Growing up in Sorrento, Victoria, both Sam & Will Phillips competed in their first sailing competition at a young age; Sam at just eight-years-old and Will sailed on the family mirror at Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club.

Gold for Mat Belcher & Will Ryan
Mat Belcher is the most successful sailor currently in the Australian Sailing Team. He now has an Olympic gold to add to the tally including 2021, (2012) and silver (2016) medal to his name and numerous World Championships, including four with current crew, Will Ryan.
